You may notice a long line of cool looking cars and motorcycles driving around Sunday in Bruce and Grey counties.

The Cruise Grey Bruce Car Show will travel through a number of communities in the area, featuring classic cars, show cars and motorcycles.

Organizer Dave Middleton says vehicles will depart from The Plex in Port Elgin at 1 p.m. Sunday and start a trek around the region that will last about two-and-a-half hours.

"I think we all just need to get out of our house and sit in the front yard for a little while," Middleton says. "And that's kind of what this is all about."

Middleton reminds, only drivers taking part in the mobile car show should arrive at The Plex. People are not permitted to gather to view the cars there.

Cars from the Corvette Club from Goderich, the Sauble Cruisers and the KW Bug Club are expected to drive in the motorcade, as well as a large contingent of motorcycles.

The Cruise Grey Bruce Car Show will depart Port Elgin along Highway 21 to Southampton, then head up Bruce Road 13 through Sauble Beach, continuing on it to Wiarton. From there, the cars and motorcycles will head south on Highway 6 to Springmount, then continue on Grey Road 18, turn on Grey Road 5 through Kilsyth. The mobile car show will then go along Grey Road 3 to Keady, Grey Road 25 to Scone and then head along Bruce Road 10 and Bruce Road 19 briefly, before going towards Chesley and Tara on Bruce Road 30. The last stretch back into Port Elgin will be done along Bruce Road 17.

The approximate times the mobile car show is expected to pass through communities in the area are as follows:

  • Port Elgin - 1 p.m. (depart)
  • Southampton - 1:15 p.m.
  • Sauble Beach - 1:30 p.m.
  • Oliphant Corner - 1:45 p.m.
  • Wiarton - 2 p.m.
  • Hepworth - 2:15 p.m.
  • Shallow Lake - 2:20 p.m.
  • Kilsyth - 2:35 p.m.
  • Keady - 2:45 p.m.
  • Chesley - 3 p.m.
  • Tara - 3:15 p.m.
  • Port Elgin - 3:30 p.m. (arrive)

Middleton is recommending those who want to catch a glimpse of the motorcade to set up at least 15 minutes prior to the estimated arrival times in each community. He says there are many parking lots along the route people can safely view the car show from.
