Norma Jean's Bistro in Owen Sound has announced it has closed for good.
In a Facebook post, the business explains that after 36 years, it's not how they planned to close.
Like all Ontario restaurants, Norma Jean's closed its dining room in mid March under provincial orders. A Facebook post back then said they would be closed for a few weeks and encouraged everyone to do their part to flatten the curve of COVID-19 infections.
A June 7th post says "We cannot thank you enough for your patronage and support. When the doors opened for their very first time on that cold January 6th in 1984, we could have never imagined that three decades later we were still here with you, our customers, our friends, our family."
The post highlights New Year's Eve parties, family get togethers and music nights that would "shake the windows," the business notes, "This was certainly not how we planned to bid farewell," adding "Cheers to 36 years and memories that will last a lifetime!"
