The Owen Sound Regional Hospital Foundation is putting $75,000 towards COVID-19 Priorities.
A media release from the foundation explains that in late March it launched its Critical Response Fund: COVID-19, to support front-line staff and healthcare workers through the pandemic. They say, "The community response was overwhelming."
Now, they're announcing the transfer of that $75,000 to Grey Bruce Health Services.
The foundation says the money will cover the some of the COVID-19 expenses of the past couple of months including the purchase of some personal protective equipment and supplies for the temporary field hospital, as well as the purchase of iPads for patients to keep in touch with their families.
They say that's been especially valuable to long-term patients because visitors aren't permitted right now due to the pandemic.
