One Person In Police Custody Following Large OPP Presence In Walkerton

Just before 12:30 this morning OPP were called to a situation on McNab Street.

South Bruce OPP say one person is in custody after an incident on McNab Street in Walkerton. 

An OPP media release says they were called to the incident just after 12:30 this morning, and for several hours police had closed a number of roads around that location, while a number of specialized OPP units were on the scene. People were told to stay indoors and drivers were being asked to avoid the area.

Police say, shortly after 8:20 this this morning a 56-year-old Brockton resident was taken into custody by members of the OPP Tactical Rescue Unit (TRU). They say the resident was taken to a local hospital for an assessment.

OPP say the investigation is continuing and South Bruce OPP are asking anyone with information to call 1-888-310-1122.
