OPP Look For Person Of Interest In Meaford Murder Case

Police want to speak with the person shown walking by in video footage the night Emerson Sprung died.

 

Grey Bruce OPP are looking for a person of interest in their investigation into the death of 25 year old Emerson Sprung of Meaford.   

Sprung was reported missing on May 3rd after not returning home the night before.

OPP say his remains were located during a police search on May 6th.

On May 12th, police arrested and charged 34-year-old Matthew McQuarrie of Meaford with First-Degree Murder.

Police are now looking to speak with an unknown person who was seen in video footage collected from a private camera at Grant Avenue on May 2nd, at 8:59 p.m. and again at 9:10 p.m.

OPP say this person is believed to be a male wearing a dark-coloured coat with a stripe or logo that extends around the mid-section of the coat, wearing dark pants and light-coloured shoes.

Two photos of this person have been released.
