Police have charged a 23-year-old man with drug trafficking related offences after executing a search warrant at a motel in Owen Sound.
City Police say members of the Owen Sound Police Drug and Enforcement Unit and the Grey-Bruce OPP Community Street Crime Unit conducted a cocaine trafficking investigation on Wednesday.
Police say a search warrant was executed just after 5 p.m. at an undisclosed east side motel. The lone occupant in the room was arrested.
Owen Sound Police say a search of the room resulted in the seizure of cocaine that police alleged was for the purpose of trafficking. Officers also confiscated cash and other items such as weigh scales, drug packaging and numerous cell phones.
The total value of the seizure is in excess of $2,600, police say.
The 23-year-old man of no fixed address who was arrested and charged had an outstanding warrant issued by the OPP for unrelated criminal and drug charges.
The accused, who has not been identified by police, has a July court date.
