Woman Assaulted On Collingwood Trail

OPP officers, Canine Unit and Emergency Response Team searched for the suspect but didn't find him.

Officers from the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains OPP are asking for the public's help in an assault investigation in Collingwood.

Police say just after 1p.m. Friday, a woman was walking on the trail in the area of the Awen' Gathering Place just north of the intersection of First Street and Cedar Street when she was assaulted by a man.

OPP say the suspect is described as wearing a long black trench coat, a grey toque and had a long, dark coloured beard.

Police say the woman wasnt injured and managed to make her way to safety and call police.

The OPP Canine Unit and members of the Emergency Response Unit (ERT) attended to assist front line members in the search but the man was not found.
