More Recoveries, One New COVID-19 Case In Grey Bruce

Grey Bruce | by Bayshore News Staff

19 active known cases in Grey Bruce as first positive test in days is reported.

More COVID-19 recoveries are being reported by the Grey Bruce Health Unit.

Four more people who previously tested positive in the region are now considered recovered from the virus. Seventy people who've been infected in Grey Bruce since the outbreak began have now beaten it; there are only 19 active known cases in the region.

One new case was reported Friday by the Grey Bruce Health Unit. It's the first new positive test in days.

Two long-term care facilities remain in COVID-19 outbreak: Parkview Manor in Chesley and Brucelea Haven in Walkerton. An outbreak is declared as soon as the first case is detected.

Brockton Mayor Chris Peabody said on social media last week all 126 residents at Brucelea Haven had tested negative.

The Health Unit says universal testing has been completed at 14 of Grey Bruce's 19 long-term care homes. It's expected testing will be complete at the remaining facilities next week.
