Huron OPP Conducted More Patrols In Cottage Country

Huron County | by Fadi Didi

Provincial police are ramping up patrol of cottage areas, as seasonal home owners are being asked to avoid travel due to COVID-19.

OPP are increasing their patrol of cottage country areas around Huron County.

While elected officials are reminding seasonal cottage owners to remain home during the COVID-19 crisis, provincial police are doubling their efforts to watch these vacant properties.

Officers in Huron County recently completed 80 kilometres of ATV patrols along the region's shoreline in Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh.

The patrols follow numerous reports from Huron OPP about break-ins at seasonal cottages in recent weeks, including nearly a dozen at a trailer park in the Town of Goderich.
