A health research institute has picked up funding, to investigate the long-term effects of COVID-19 on rural healthcare.
The Goderich based Gateway Centre of Excellence in Rural Health is receiving $5 thousand in funding through the COVID-19 Urgent Needs Fund of the United Way of Perth-Huron.
In a news release, Gateway is proposing a research project to focus on "the current impact of COVID 19 within our local rural healthcare system."
A short questionnaire is being developed for healthcare workers, which is expected to be distributed to local providers.
"The goal of the research will be to interpret and integrate the information provided so that community health partners can collectively aim towards solutions or recommendations that are right for their facilities, health-care staff and our rural communities."
