Residents will soon have limited access to the Saugeen Shores landfill.
On Saturday, May 9 and May 16 it will be open for brush drop-off only.
The Town says there is no charge for dropping off brush. Users will be required to enter through the scale and check in with the attendants though the intercom as well as weigh out.
Residents with household or other waste will be turned away.
On Monday, May 11, residential drop-off will begin with regular hours of operation from 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.
On these dates, residents will be allowed to use the landfill based on their garbage pickup day:
Monday, May 11 and Wednesday May 20: residents with a regular garbage day on Monday (Port Elgin)
Wednesday, May 13 and Friday May 22: residents with a regular garbage day on Wednesday or Thursdays (Southampton and Port Elgin)
Friday, May 15 and Saturday May 23: with a regular garbage day on Tuesday (Port Elgin and Saugeen Township)
The Town says to be prepared to show ID with your address.
The landfill will return to normal operation Monday May 25.
The number of vehicles on site will be limited to make sure everyone is following physical distancing rules and the Town says to expect lineups.
