Community Garden Project Postponed

Shelburne | by Jill Young

Town of Shelburne says the pandemic has postponed the new community garden until next year.

The Community Garden initiative that was set to open in Fiddle Park in Shelburne this month, has been postponed.

The Town of Shelburne has confirmed that with the pandemic, the community garden will now be constructed this fall instead, opening to gardeners in May of next year - 2021.

Town officials say interest in the garden plots was very strong and they were sold fast, as of early March there were only 2 of the 22 left available.

There is refund options for those who don't want to wait until next year:

1. No refund – I will keep my plot and use the funds for the 2021 garden season

2. Full Refund – I would like to keep my plot for the 2021 season and will pay again next year – I will be contacted in the Fall 2020

3. Full Refund – I do not want to keep my plot for the 2021 season and give up my reservation and understand that I will have to reapply or be placed on a waitlist to receive a garden plot in the future
