COVID-19 Confirmed In Staffer At Huronview Home For the Aged In Clinton

Officials say health staff are working to track who the individual has been in contact with.

A second long term care home in Huron County has confirmed a positive case of COVID-19.

County officials report a case of the novel coronavirus with a staff member at the Huronview Home for the Aged, in Clinton.

According to a news release, Huronview Home for the Aged is working closely with Huron Perth Public Health to identify who that individual has been in contact with before their symptoms started.

The report follows news this week a resident at the Blue Water Rest Home in Zurich also tested positive for COVID-19.

There are now 44 cases of the novel coronavirus in Huron and Perth counties, including four deaths.

Three of those deaths occurred at the Greenwood Court long term care home, in Stratford.

Ten cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Huron County, with three each in the municipalities of Bluewater and South Huron.

Huron East, Goderich, Central Huron, and Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh have each reported one case.
