26 Charges Laid, Following Police Chase Through Huron East

OPP say spike belt failed to stop fleeing driver, man and woman facing combined 26 charges.

A vehicle chase through Huron and Perth counties has resulted in 20 charges against a Huron East man.

OPP say a sedan was observed without a front licence plate Wednesday along Hydro Line road.

According to reports, the sedan sped away when officers tried to stop it.

Police say a spike belt failed to stop the vehicle, which later sideswiped a cruiser before being safely stopped outside Seaforth.

OPP say the driver resisted officers, before being arrested.

A 22 year old man is facing numerous charges, including assault a peace officer, possession of a weapon, possession of counterfeit money, and flight from police.

Police have also charged the passenger, a 23 year old Arran-Elderslie woman, with six counts, including resist peace officer.
