Dufferin County Council has unanimously decided to defer property tax levies.
Shelburne Mayor Wade Mills says at a virtual meeting this week, council members decided to defer the levies to give lower-tier municipalities more flexibility in offering tax related relief to residents.
This has already been done in Shelburne.
Council also received a comprehensive report from the Dufferin Oaks Administrator detailing the efforts being made within that facility to protect staff and residents.
Mills says it was encouraging that many of these protocols being followed at the facility have been made proactively ahead of provincial mandates to do so.
All residents are being tested for COVID-19 and to date, 105 tests have been administered.
