A 37 year old man has been charged in Orangeville for soliciting door to door during the pandemic.
The man has been charged with failing to comply with an order made during a declared emergency, under the province’s Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act.
Police say a citizen made a complaint Monday March 30th after a man was going to homes and soliciting residents looking to have their eavestroughs cleaned.
Officers arrived at a home on Centre Street and found the man on the roof.
Police say the eavestrough cleaning did not meet the criteria of an essential business, and was not considered urgent residential repair.
A ticket for a fine of $750 plus a victim surcharge of $130 was given.
