The Upper Grand District School Board is contributing to the effort to get much-needed medical supplies and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to health agencies in the community.
Over the weekend, the staff from the board’s Operations Department collected extra supplies from board sites and compiled an inventory of over 100-thousand gloves, N95 masks, and other equipment.
Working with Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health, supplies will be available to support urgent local needs.
In the meantime, staff in the UGDSB continue to provide PPE face shield parts using 3D printers.
Earlier this month, after hearing about the shortage of Personal Protective Equipment for health care workers, the school board partnered with Kitchener’s InkSmith to begin making components for face shields.
