Goderich Man Faces Weapons, Mischief Charges

OPP say suspect pointed air rifle at officers, after complaints of yelling at home on Widder Street.

A Goderich man is facing seven weapons charges, after police were called to a home in Canada's Prettiest Town.

OPP say they were contacted about a man yelling and shouting at neighbours of a home on Widder Street.

According to reports, the suspect was intoxicated and told by officers to go inside, but pointed an air rifle at police as they drove away.

Police say the man then pointed the firearm at several neighbouring homes, before officers were called back, and the man was taken into custody.

A 28 year old man has been charged with possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, assault a peace officer with a weapon, mischief, and disturbing the peace.

He is schedule to appear in Goderich Court June 1st.
