Continue Self-Isolation Through Weekend

Regional | by Jill Young

Officials want everyone to continue to protect themselves against possible exposure to COVID-19.

With it being the weekend, there might be a temptation to get rid of that cabin fever from a week of isolation.

Health officials say it is important for people to know how to protect themselves from coronavirus.

It's crucial that people follow the protocol of social distancing and self isolation.

A provincial emergency was declared this week, which was to allow the Ontario government officials to continue to safeguard people's health and well-being and quickly limit exposure.

No organized events over 50 people are allowed to take place, there is a mandatory closure of most facillities across the province like recreational facilities, theatres, and licensed child care centres.

If you develop symptoms of what you believe could be COVID-19, like cough, breathing difficulty and fever, you are asked to call Telehealth at 1-866-797-0000 or your local health unit for direction.
