Local Businesses Operating in Alternate Ways During Pandemic

Dufferin County | by Jill Young

Many local business owners have thought up different ways to operate during the coronavirus crisis.

Coronavirus has uprooted our lives and for many local businesses, it has meant a time of change for them too.

Local business owners in Dufferin County are changing their ways, as they deal with forced closures and customers having to stay at home.

Dufferin Board of Trade General Manager Diana Morris says some businesses are offering take out or delivery services even though their doors might be locked.

That includes restaurants in the region, and even stores are offering pick up services for anyone who wants to buy anything without going into the store.

She says Rosemont General Store is offering curbside pick up, some bakeries and cafes are offering up ready made meals, and Adamo winery is even delivering their wine.

Morris says now more than ever, we need to support our local businesses in any way we can.

She says they are often the ones supporting community initiatives and we need to help hold them up in their time of need.

Morris adds that stores that are open are taking extra precautions to do extra cleaning and sanitizing.
