To curb the spread of COVID-19, a doctor with the Maitland Valley Family Health Team is pressing the importance of remaining at home for 14 days, if you have recently arrived from a trip outside Canada.
Dr. Samuel Appavoo says it is critical for those who have recently returned to Canada to avoid exposure to public places, and have others do shopping on their behalf.
The longer we put off social distancing, says Appavoo, the more severe the impact on society.
Appavoo calls social distancing the "best tool we have to slow this down."
This includes avoiding public events, daycares, and family gatherings -- anything which limits your exposure to people.
For those looking to contact Goderich's Maitland Valley Family Health Team, Appavoo says you can leave a message with reception, and your call will be returned as soon as possible.
