The new assessment centre at Collingwood's hospital will open on Wednesday (March 18).
It will be located in front of Collingwood General and Marine Hospital and will be to screen all emergency patients going into the hospital.
It is not being considered a testing centre.
The hospital says that all patients coming into the facility will be required to enter through the Assessment Centre which will be housed in a tent in front of the emergency entrance to the hospital.
Staffed by CGMH physicians and employees with the assistance of Nurse Practitioners from
the Georgian Bay Family Health Team, the purpose is to stream patients to the most appropriate area for care.
The hospital is asking people not to show up asking to be tested for COVID-19.
