Goderich Shoreline Project Delayed

Goderich | by Peter Jackson

A recent storm has put work on hold, but Mayor John Grace is confident it will be done by June 1st

The Mayor of Goderich is confident the ongoing shoreline stabilization project will be done by the June 1st target date.

John Grace tells us that the recent snow and windstorm threw the contractor a setback, and that work has had to be suspended temporarily.

He says Huron District Contracting will resume the project, as the weather gets milder.

Grace is pleased with progress so far, which has been helped by a relatively mild and quiet winter.

The section by the water treatment plant was done in late January, and work then moved to the area around Beach Street Station.

The project was made necessary, after a severe windstorm lashed high waves on shore last fall.
