Barrie Police have made arrests following a human trafficking investigation.

The investigation focused on a company operated locally as Nite Candy Escort Agency or NC Promotions.

Last Thursday police searched a Radenhurst Crescent residence. Three people, 2 males aged 48 and 45 from Barrie and a 44-year old female from Angus were arrested and collectively face a total 52 criminal charges.

They include Trafficking in Person, Material Benefit, Procuring, Material Benefit Prostitution and Sexual Assault.

All three have since been released and are scheduled to appear next in Barrie Court on April 6.

Barrie Police Chief Kimberley Greenwood says she commends investigators for the excellent work that they did throughout the course of this investigation.

“And as I have stated before, human trafficking has no place in our community or any other community,” she added. “The funding and five-year comprehensive strategy to combat human trafficking that was announced late last week by the Ontario Government will give law enforcement and our investigators the tools and resources required to continue investigating these horrific crimes and hold those who engage in this controlling industry accountable for their actions".

Anyone with info pertaining to the case should contact Barrie Police.
