Species At Risk Grants For Two Huron County Groups

Over $154,000 will benefit three projects supervised by two organizations

Two Huron County groups involved in protecting species at risk and their habitats are benefiting from over $154 thousand in provincial grants.

The Huron Stewardship Council is receiving almost $63 thousand for its Conservation of Eastern Hognose Snake in Southwestern Ontario project in Goderich.

The Council is also in line for an additional $54 thousand, for its Turtle Recovery Actions project in Huron County.

Over $38 thousand is going to Natural Resource Solutions Inc., to continue its collaborative activities in support of Mottled Duskywing & Other Butterfly Species At Risk Recovery in Grand Bend.

The grants come through the province's Species at Risk Stewardship Program, and were announced by Huron-Bruce Tory MPP Lisa Thompson on Friday.
