Counterfeit Money Ring Broken Up

OPP say counterfeit U.S. money was used in Simcoe County and multiple people have been arrested.

Charges have been laid after a month long investigation into an organized crime ring distributing counterfeit money.

OPP say the fake U.S. money was distributed in Simcoe County and other parts of Ontario.

Between February 10th and 27th, the counterfeit $20, $50, and $100 bills were used at various establishments, including liquor and beer stores, grocery stores and fast food restaurants in the area.

Numerous people were arrested and charged, none were named due to the investigation that is ongoing.
