Counterfeit Ring Busted In Simcoe County

If you suspect that you've received a counterfeit note, give it to your local police.

Nottawasaga OPP has laid charges in relation to an organized crime ring that was distributing counterfeit currency in Simcoe County.

Between Feb 10 and 27, more than 30 offence locations were targeted with $20, $50 and $100 US bills.

The locations included liquor and beer stores, grocery stores and fast-food restaurants in Simcoe and surrounding areas.

Numerous people are charged with possession of and using counterfeit money, as well as property obtained by crime and fraud over $5,000

If you suspect that you've received a counterfeit note, give it to your local police.
