Reduced Load Season in Effect

Dufferin County | by Phil DeLand

Dufferin County officials say it'll stay in effect usually until about May 15th.

It may not look like it outside but we're almost into spring so reduced load season is in effect.

Dufferin County officials say it'll stay in effect until further notice.

It usually runs until May 15th but that end date will depend on weather and road conditions.

It's in effect to protect the roads during a time when the frost leaves the ground.

Vehicles must adhere to a 5 tonne per axle limit.

There are some exceptions, however, including:

•County Roads 24, 25, 109, 124 (former highways)
•County Road 3
•Country Road 7 from Highway 10 to 5 Sideroad Mono
•County Road 11 from 109 to Shannon Court
•County Road 17 from County Road 124 to 4th Line Melancthon
