Goderich BIA Acknowledges Challenges In Going Digital

Goderich | by Peter Jackson

The Chair of the Downtown BIA says a solution must be ford for those who have no computer experience

Drumming up business is challenging for many commercial ventures in the digital age, and drawing customers to downtown Goderich is no exception.

Up to a third of Downtown BIA members have no websites of their own.

BIA Chair Elizabeth Van den Broeck says setting up a website that potential customers may want to bookmark, can be time consuming and may not be for everyone.

She says launching and maintaining a site is an ongoing commitment, adding that she spends many of her off-hours keeping her business site fresh.

Van den Broeck says an answer must be found for downtown business owners who have no computer experience, to help customers access digital information.

She adds that the retail market is going digital, and businesses in the core area will need to get on board.
