Casino Rama Evacuated Due To Anonymous Bomb Threat

Casino Rama says they were informed of the threat at 2pm.

A heavy police presence in the area of Casino Rama this afternoon.

Rama Police ordered the casino be evacuated after an anonymous bomb threat.

One person who was there at the time says an announcement came over the PA stating to evacuate immediately.

Rama Police and OPP were seen on site investigating.

Our source tells us the first announcement came on the PA at 2:26, which only stated 'can we have your attention'.

About 4 minutes later another message came saying there was a situation and Rama Police are on-site and to evacuate immediately.

Our source says it was a very slow evacuation that commenced and that people were given robes to leave the facility in.

People have since been taken to Rama First Nation Community Hall.

The site is currently closed to visitors.

Casino Rama says at 2 pm, they were informed of the threat which was called into the Orillia OPP. 

"The OPP are on-site with Rama Police working with staff to evacuate the property," states the Casino Release.  

"Our priority is ensuring the safety of customers and employees while the police continue to investigate this threat.

The property is temporarily closed to patrons and staff. We will provide further information as it becomes available to us.  As the building has been evacuated, there is no ability to answer phone inquiries.  Further updates will be available on Casino Rama Resort Facebook."
