Orillia Man, Bracebridge Woman Facing Drug Trafficking Charges

On February 8th at 7:45 pm, an OPP officer conducted a traffic stop on Barrie Road in Orillia.

A 24-year-old Orillia man and a 27-year-old Bracebridge woman are facing charges related to a drug trafficking investigation.

On February 8th at 7:45 pm, an OPP officer conducted a traffic stop on Barrie Road in Orillia.

The investigation led them to arrest the driver for obstructing police. 

The driver was found to be in possession of and under the influence of drugs

24-year-old Kaleb Saastamoinen of Orillia has been charged with the following offences:

Obstructing Police 

Operation While Impaired by Drugs 

Possession of Property Obtained by Crime

Three counts of Possession of a Schedule I substance 

Two counts of Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking 

Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 

Failure to Comply with Court order 

He was held in custody and is set to appear in Orillia for a Bail Hearing.

Police also arrested and charged the passenger, 27 year old, Justine Docherty of Bracebridge with:

Three counts of Possession of a Schedule I substance 

Two counts of Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking 

Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 

She was released and is slated to appear in Orillia court March 10th.
