Demonstrators will be in downtown Goderich two days this week, in solidarity with indigenous Canadians rallying against a pipeline in Western Canada.
Protests began this weekend, following a federal court ruling which dismissed indigenous claims to land through which the Coastal GasLink pipeline would run.
Shannon Hugman previewed a documentary film this weekend in Goderich, cataloguing the fight against the pipeline by Western indigenous groups.
Hugman tells Country 104.9 News the film prompted a demonstration in front of various banks in downtown Goderich she says support the Coastal GasLink pipeline.
Monday and Wednesday's demonstrations will take place outside BMO, CIBC, RBC, and Scotiabank, before ending at TD Canada Trust, along Victoria Street, between 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m.
Hugman says demonstrators will suggest calls to action for bank patrons, including expression of concern to bank managers, calls to head office, or switching from a larger bank to a local credit union.
