Standoff In Bluevale Results In Sixteen Charges For Morris-Turnberry Man

OPP lay charges for careless storage of firearm, possession of a prohibited weapon following January 28th standoff.

Over a dozen charges have been laid, following a standoff in Bluevale.

OPP were called to a home along Orange Street on January 28th, to check the well-being of a resident.

After a standoff lasting several hours, one person was taken into custody without incident.

Police have now charged a 72 year old Morris-Turnberry man with sixteen charges, including nine counts of careless storage of a firearm, three counts of knowledge of unauthorized possession of a weapon, and four counts of possession of a prohibited weapon or ammunition.

The accused remains in custody, and is scheduled to appear in Goderich court via video link on February 6th.
