Goderich Shoreline Stabilization Project Moving Quickly

Goderich | by Peter Jackson

Director of Operations Chip Wilson hopes for continued good weather, for the work to be done by spring

The Director of Operations with the Town of Goderich is looking ahead to work still needed, on the shoreline stabilization and beach boardwalk replacement projects.

Chip Wilson says stabilization work has been completed by the water treatment plant, and that the section near Beach Street Station is ongoing.

He says stabilization expenditures are reviewed once each week, and upcoming shoreline work will be evaluated.

Wilson cautions that adverse weather could still intervene, but he remains confident that boardwalk replacement at the south end of the beach area could start relatively shortly.

He adds there is a sense of urgency to get the stabilization project completed, but is hedging his bets on a completion date because of weather and lake conditions.
