Special Meeting Monday to Talk Policing Costs for Shelburne

Shelburne | by Jill Young

Estimated cost increases related to the disbandment of Orangeville's Police Service will be discussed.

A special council meeting is being held in Shelburne Monday January 20th to discuss some policing issues.

The meeting, being held in Grace Tipling Hall, starts at 6:30 pm.

Town council will be talking about estimated cost increases related to the disbandment of Orangeville's Police Service and how it will effect Shelburne Police when it comes to their shared services.

Shelburne Police say the four areas of concern are existing police station deficiencies, supervision, provision for court duties and prisoner guard and transport, as well as dispatch services.
