Sauble Beach | by Bayshore News Staff

A fundraising effort aims to help the family of Sauble Beach firefighter Jamie Hill.

Susan Hill and her son Liam Fletcher

A GoFundMe page has been set up for the family of Sauble Beach firefighter Jamie Hill.

On December 5th, 62 year old Jamie Hill and his 21 year old step-son, Liam Fletcher were in a four-vehicle collision north of Brussels, that claimed the life of Jamie Hill and resulted in life-threatening injuries to Liam Fletcher.

Fletcher is in hospital in London.

The GoFundMe page was started up Sunday (Dec 8th) by Jess Lynn and Aaron MacDonald. It says, "It is with heavy hearts, that we say goodbye to Jamie, and with strong hearts- we hold on for Liam."

They go on to say the Hill family recently closed their businesses in Sauble Beach and money raised will help with funeral costs and any expenses for the family.

In addition, proceeds from a 'Jingle Ball' hosted by Big Island Official will go to the Hill family.

That is set to take place at the Wiarton propeller Club on December 21st from 9p.m. to 1a.m.

Tickets will not be sold at the door. You can get them online at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/big-island-jingle-ball-tickets-84536628331
