Police have more information about the fatal accident that occurred on Bruce County Road 10 just outside of Chesley last Thursday (Dec 5), which claimed the lives of two people.
Police say an investigation revealed that a northbound car lost traction and was skidding along the roadway when it was struck by a southbound cargo van.
The driver of the Northbound car, 46- year old, Mark Gatt, of Clifford and his passenger 46-year old Sarah Irvine of Hanover, were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the southbound cargo van was taken to a local hospital to have minor injuries assessed.
OPP and West Grey Police officers, Bruce County paramedics and Chesley Firefighters were called to a two vehicle incident just south of Scone, which took place after 1:30 p.m.
Following the accident the OPP closed a stretch of Bruce Road 10 for the investigation.
