By this evening things will really get festive with the Carol of the Bells followed by the Rotary Santa Claus Parade.
At 6 pm the public is invited to gather in Heritage Square for the count down in which the switch will be flipped and the entire park will be aglow with beautiful lights, including the Town Christmas tree.
Mayor Sue Paterson warmly invites everyone to attend the festivities and take in the beautiful voices of members of the Grey Bruce Singers as well as a children's choir.
Along with Christmas caroling and good cheer, Paterson says tonight is a time for young and old to gather together to officially kick off the Christmas season in Hanover.
At 7 p.m. the Rotary Santa Claus Parade will begin.
Paterson says this is always a crowd pleaser, as thousands line the streets to take in the sights and catch a glimpse of Old St. Nick.
