United Way Perth-Huron Hits 40% Of Fundraising Goal

Huron-Perth | by Peter Jackson

The organization aims to raise $1.633 million by the end of March

Annual fundraising by United Way Perth-Huron is on target for this stage of the campaign, but the organization's Executive Director says meeting the goal will be a challenge this year.

Ryan Erb says 40 per-cent of the $1.633 million target has been collected or pledged so far.

The goal is 11 per-cent higher than last year, as the United Way tackles homelessness as its major campaign theme.

Erb says volunteers and staff will need to "pick things up", to encourage donors to help reach the target.

He points out that the campaign will help United Way agencies focus on homelessness in Goderich, while new programming will start in St. Marys and new services will launch in Stratford.

The fundraising drive continues through the end of March.
