The Active Lifestyle Centre Grey Bruce is using new government funding to begin a seniors program in Owen Sound focused on addressing areas of interest and concerns using local information.

Sharon McKeachnie, Chair of the Board for Active Lifestyles Centre says the Seniors Ask program aims to train seniors to help other seniors find solutions to issues like transportation and access to doctors.

The $19,000 in funding from the New Harmony for Seniors Program will be put towards training volunteers on how to answer phones and emails and assist members of the community in contacting the recourses needed for their concern.

The centre is hosting an open house today for those who wish to get involved with the Seniors Ask Program from 1pm until 2pm at their Owen Sound location.

RSVP is requested and can be booked by calling 519-376-8304.
