Hope Community Church is only three years old, and Pastor Terry Denbok says it is already bursting at the seams.
The Church is in the process of purchasing a parcel of land located behind the church for the purpose of expansion.
Denbok says more room is needed to house the children's area, a youth section as well as create a few more office spaces.
Denbok says they also plan to knock down a few walls as well as expand the parking lot.
As a first step, Hanover has approved a rezoning application to the parcel of land behind the church from Residential to Institutional to allow for the future expansion.
The zoning application has received Grey County's approval with no concerns being expressed.
Denbok says it may take a year or two to get the shovel into the ground.
He says his church will need to fundraise in order to prepare for the expansion project.
Denbok is optimistic this will be achievable, noting that there is only about 140 thousand dollars left to pay on the church’s current mortgage.
Hope Community Church boasts approximately 170 parishioners.
Since opening three years ago, Hope Community Church has opened its doors to the community in seek of space to hold events and functions.
