Owen Sound police have launched into their holiday food drive campaign for the Salvation Army.

Auxiliary members of the police service collected food at Metro last weekend. They will be at Food Basics Saturday November 30th from 9a.m. to 3p.m.

Police service members will also be at Zehrs on Friday December 6th from 5-9p.m. and Saturday December 7th from 9a.m. to 3p.m.

Last year they raised $3,600 and 7,400 lbs of food.

Meanwhile, the Owen Sound firefighters' annual toy drive is underway. They have donation boxes in 20 locations throughout the city. Last year, they delivered presents to over 400 kids in Owen Sound. They take donations right up until Christmas.

In West Grey, police have partnered again with McLean’s Home Hardware, the Durham Food Bank, local schools and businesses.

Donation bins are located at the West Grey Police Service, Mclean’s Home Hardware, the Durham Medical Clinic and Granny’s General Store in both Ayton and Neustadt.

Officers will be collecting toys at Mclean's Home Hardware on Saturday November 30th,  from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Police say Mcleans is offering 40% off toys that are donated to the drive.

There will be a Food Drive at Durham Foodland on December 7th after the Santa Claus Parade.
Officers will collect toys at McLean’s Home Hardware that day as well.
They say they will be happy to take toy and financial donations up to December 13th.
