The community is rallying around an artist from our area who has cancer.
An art auction opens on Monday to raise money to help Christine MacLean.
She is a psychotherapist who lived in this area for almost 20 years before moving, with her husband and two daughters, to Halifax.
MacLean has stage 4 cancer which has spread to her lymph nodes.
One of the art auction organizers and friend of MacLean, Sue Miller of Creemore, says there are other treatments in the U.S. and Europe that can be explored, but they are expensive.
Miller says she hopes to raise 25 thousand dollars.
The art auction features 40 to 50 different artists and some have offered more than one piece.
The online auction starts at 9 a.m. Monday, November 18 and closes at 11:45 P.M. on November 29th.
