The stage has been set for the visit of Santa Claus to Port Elgin.
With that, the big Christmas Tree was lit with children helping Mayor Luke Charbonneau flip the switch.
It was all part of the fun that over 100 people enjoyed from seeing Santa's reindeer, a dancing demonstration and the tree lighting.
Kate and Rick Hagen, along with their kids, 6 year old Brielle and 3 year old Brecken took in the celebration and Kate says the kids are getting excited.
She says the kids are asking about putting up the Christmas Tree and she hints that might happen this weekend.
Mayor Luke Charbonneau was on hand and he says things like the lighting bring back a lot of childhood memories and visiting his grandparents with his parents.
Charbonneau says there was always a beautiful tree and plenty of cookies and that tradition continues today as the Charbonneaus take their kids to their grandparents.
Memories aside, Mayor Charbonneau says his Christmas wish this year, is that everyone has a healthy and Merry Christmas.
He says he's well aware that many find it tough-going living in Saugeen Shores and he hopes everyone will give generously at this time of year, to the Food Bank and the other charities that help out at Christmas.
Next up is Sparkles Night in Southampton and the lighting of the Christmas Tree at the old Town Hall on Thursday, November 21st.
Santa Claus parade in Port Elgin is Saturday, November 23rd and in Southampton on Friday, December 6th.
