Shelburne Draft Budget Released

For 2020, the town working to keep the tax levy increase at or below 8 per cent.

The 2020 Draft Budget was presented during the last Shelburne Council Meeting.

For 2020, the town working to keep the tax levy increase at or below 8 per cent.

The town is looking at $9,381,130 in Operating Expenses with $1,901,830 in Operating Revenues for a difference of $7,479,300 to be Raised by Taxation.

On the Town Portion of the homeowner's taxes, there could be a 5.5 per cent increase which works out to $123.85 per year or $10.32 per month.

That's based on a single family home assessed at $325,895.

Emergency Services Accommodation Reserve is looking at a 2.88 per cent levy, or $200,562.

Future Parks & Recreation Capital Projects is looking to get a 2.15 per cent levy, or $149,5860.

Meanwhile, $50,000, or .72 per cent, will be set aside for Town Hall & Police Services Emergency Preparedness.
