SRPC Exhibits Huron-Perth Living Wage Stories

Huron-Perth | by Peter Jackson

The United Way agency photovoice peoject runs in Goderich until November 29th

Stories of Huron and Perth County residents who make less than the Living Wage set by the Social Research and Planning Council are being shared in a month-long exhibition in Goderich.

The SRPC is an agency of the United Way Perth-Huron.

Earlier this year, the Council set the Living Wage for 2019 at $17.44 per hour, for a family of four with both parents working.

The exhibition is intended both to inform the public, and to recommend that municipal and provincial governments address the issue, along with private sector employers and agencies.

SRPC officials say smaller photovoice project displays on the Living Wage will be held in communities across both Counties.

The Goderich exhibition is being held at the Huron County Museum and Historic Gaol through November 29th.
