Saugeen Shores Reminded of Year-Round Garbage Locations

Saugeen Shores | by Megan Johnson

Many receptacles are removed due to snow.

Seasonal garbage bins will soon be stored away for the winter months and the Town of Saugeen Shores is reminding residents where they can find garbage bins throughout the winter months.

Bins are still located in downtown sections, near well-used trails and public gathering places.

The town says the reason for this is due to snow and lack of access for maintenance.

Full-time garbage locations can be found here:10th Concession parking lot (Biener's Bush and Woodland Trail), Biener's Bush/Bushline Trail access from Summerside Place, Downtown Port Elgin, North Shore Park (entering trail from harbour parking lot), Nodwell Park, Off Leash Dog Park, Port Elgin Harbour (near fishing dock, closer to road), Rail Trail at 6th Concession (parking lot), Rail Trail at River St, Skate Park, The Plex (main entrance),Denny's Dam, Fisherman's Park, Helliwell Park, Jubilee Park, Long Dock parking area (at Gerry's Fries), Millard Blvd/Southampton Flag (near washroom)

Extra bins will be available until late fall at the following locations:Cameron Park, Gobles Grove (near washroom), Port Elgin Main Beach (near Beach House and Harbour St), Port Elgin Main Beach parking lot (near pavilion), Town Pond (near the hatchery), Chantry View Dr (near washroom), Long Dock Pavilion (near Gerry's Fries), Perkins Park, Scubby's Point (parking area) and South St (near beach access).
