Final Household Hazardous Waste Day in Grey Bruce

Southampton, Owen Sound drop-offs open on last hazardous waste collection day of 2019.

The final Household Hazardous Waste collection events in 2019 for Grey and Bruce counties are today.

Those who live in Owen Sound, Chatsworth, Georgian Bluffs, Grey Highlands, Meaford and West Grey can bring materials to the Public Works Facility in Owen Sound on 20th Street East between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.

For Bruce County residents, the Southampton Works Yard at 429 Peel Street will be open from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Paints, oils, cleaners, batteries, chemicals and propane tanks are among the materials that will be accepted at no cost.

Officials say waste must be received in containers that can be disposed of. They will not be emptied and returned.

Commercial, agricultural and industrial wastes will not be accepted.
