Big Campaign for Stevenson

The $43-million campaign marks the largest capital campaign in the history of the foundation.

A new campaign at Stevenson Memorial Hospital was launched yesterday to support the hospitals redevelopment project.

The $43-million campaign marks the largest capital campaign in the history of the foundation.

It will also support the Health Information System and annual equipment needs.

The County of Simcoe has committed $10 million, as part its funding commitment to Simcoe County Hospital Alliance.

The Honda Canada Foundation has committed $4 million and the Nottawasaga Foundation has committed to donating $1 million.

Key supporters include Simcoe County Warden George Cornell, Tom Lake, Executive Vice President, Honda of Canada Mfg, Nottawasaga Foundation and Campaign Cabinet Chair Sylvia Biffis and Cathy Loblaw, President and CEO, Ronald McDonald House Charities.

Other supporters are Jim Wilson, MPP, Simcoe-Grey, New Tecumseth Mayor Rick Milne, Essa Mayor Sandie Macdonald and Adjala-Tosorontio Deputy Mayor Bob Meadows.

Over $20-million has been raised to date with another $1 million expected in gifts and pledges by the end of this year, bringing the campaign to nearly 50 per cent of its $43 million goal.
