Global Climate Strike Comes To Goderich

Demonstration opposing inaction on climate change to run Friday in Goderich's Courthouse Park.

A demonstration promoting climate action is coming to the Town of Goderich.

The "Global Climate Strike" is a week-long movement, where environmental activists have protested government inaction on climate change.

Spokesperson for the Global Climate Strike Goderich, Dean Whalen, says the demonstration will run Friday in the town's Courthouse Park.

Whalen, says climate change will take a serious toll on places like Huron County.

He points to longer dry and wet seasons, and more dramatic changes in temperatures as issues affecting the agricultural community.

Whalen says speakers will also be hand for the demonstration, which begins at 12:00 p.m. Friday in the south plaza of Courthouse Park.
